Our Special Little Gem
From the outset, our small establishment has been about family — those related by blood and those chosen through shared experience. Even our hotel’s name came to us organically as part of our team’s daily discourse at Hotel L’Esplanade. “The little hotel” or “le petit hotel” became shorthand for the charming little property coming into its own just down the road. And the name stuck. It captured the essence of our beachy vibe, charming accommodations, and attentive care with a relaxed approach. Our hotel is a special little place designed for “the lucky few.”

Our Story
In 1995 just a few years after opening Hotel L’Esplanade, Andre Petrelluzzi had the opportunity to build a sister hotel on a perfect little stretch of sand facing Grand Case Bay. Designed by the same architect, our distinctive Mediterranean style makes us unique among St. Martin hotels.
We welcomed our first guests in November 1996, just as Kristin and Marc Petrelluzzi arrived on the island for what was supposed to be a two-month vacation. But as so often happens here, those two months have yet to end. The couple served as resident managers for four years before heading to Hotel L’Esplanade to oversee both properties.

Meet Remy and Yamina, the delightful husband and wife duo who run Le Petit Hotel like their second home. Genuinely caring and incredibly attentive, they’ll receive you upon arrival and set you up in your room like you’re visiting family. Always ready to offer tips on where to go and when, make restaurant suggestions and reservations, Remy and Yamina have an uncanny ability to provide just what you need seamlessly. And just like that, you’re in the fold visiting your long lost French cousins!
